Nanotechnology engineering course is available at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Research and Ph.D levels. This course is very popular but the field is at an emerging stage. It is the study and application of extremely small things (atoms and molecules) that leads to the production of future technology.
Nanotechnology is used in various industries like bio-informatics, pharmaceuticals, stem cell development sectors, nano medicine, nano toxicology, environment sector, sporting goods, personal care products, health industry, agriculture, genetics, communication & media, forensic science, academic & teaching, food & beverage, space research, product development and research & development departments in government and private institutes.
B.TECH + M.TECH (DUAL DEGREE)
For B.Tech one should have passed 12th standard examinations with minimum 50% marks in PCM (physics, chemistry, and maths). The candidate also needs to take up national level exams like JEE, etc to get admission in the course. The type of entrance exam depends upon the institute the candidate is applying for.
For Dual Degree the candidate should have passed 12th standard from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks in PCM (physics, chemistry, and maths). He/She would also need to appear for the entrance exam depending upon the institute.
For M.Tech one should possess B.E/B.Tech bachelor’s degree or Masters Degree in basic or applied science/nanotechnology holders can apply. One has to appear for national level GATE exam and its score is considered for admission in respective institutes. Few institutes have their own exams as well.
