As the name states, it is located in Goa occupying an area of 188 acres (0.76km2). BPGC was established in 2004 and is a private institute of the Aditya Birla Group. It’s one of the campuses of BITS Pilani and has the same teaching methodology. The institute was renamed as Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus in 2011 after the death of the chancellor Krishna Kumar Birla. Being in the most well known city of India and the world it has a very picturesque surrounding of landscapes, hillocks, forests, and waterways.
BITS Pilani, Goa Campus has separate hostels for boys and girls which are well furnished with basic amenities. The campus caters guest houses, Medical Center, Student Activity Center, Shopping Complex, Playgrounds, Academic and Administrative offices, Faculty and Staff quarters, Cafeteria, Departmental store,etc. One can say a small city resides in the campus.
The placement rate of BITS Pilani, Goa Campus is 90%. This gives a proof of the quality of education the students get and the expertise of the staff. More than 150 corporate both large, small visit the campus for recruitment. Every year more companies are added to the list. The admission to the BITS Pilani Goa Campus is through BITSAT Exam for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. It’s an online exam. The courses available at BPGC are B.E. (hons.), M.E. and Doctoral Degree in Chemical Engineering. They also have Practice School through which the students get compulsory internship. The students are provided with soundproof, spacious classrooms with modern furniture and internet facility.
